Can I pay on lease?
Yes. Atia Communications offer a wide range of payment options to suit all of our customers needs. Our consultancy team will be happy to advise on the best payment option for you and your business.
Do you offer flexible payment options?
Our solutions are all finance cleared therefore a wide range of flexible options are available. Atia Communications have long standing finance relationships with finance houses, which means we can offer a solution to most customer situations. If you have been turned down for capital equipment, then please try Atia Communications. Our most popular payment options are equipment rental over 3 or 5 years, with a predetermined transfer of ownership at the end of the rental and a cash purchase with a deposit and defined project milestones for the remaining balance.
How long will IP Telephony take to implement?
That is not a question with a simple answer. There are many factors that determine installation times are i.e. when an order is placed, the number of installs currently in progress, the complexity of the install, the availability of the location and network availability. The Atia Project Team will look after all areas of the install, and we ensure all project management is included in the price. A firm install date will be provided and agreed by all parties prior to any work being undertaken.
Will you manage the entire installation?
Yes. The entire installation from the Connectivity (ADSL, ISDN, SIP) to Go Live is managed by a Prince2 Certified Project Management Professional. In most cases all costs for project management are included in the final proposal. This eliminates any hidden surprises or extra charges at the end of the project.
Can you offer voice grade ADSL?
Atia Communications offer voice grade ISP services to our customers. Please see our Business Internet Services for full details, or simply contact us and one of our consultants will take you through the best options suited to your situation.
How many customers do you have?
At the start of 2010 Atia Communications were managing and supporting communications for just over 12,000 end users.
Do you provide Training?
Yes. Atia Communications will provide your team with all the full training, as agreed at the outset of the project. All costs for any agreed training will be outlined within the project fees at the start of the project.
How Scalable are your systems?
The smallest system that Atia Communications look after is 5 users, the largest system is just over 1,000 end user handsets. IP Telephony will scale far easier than traditional systems, and with far less cost and disruption associated. The question of scale is almost redundant with our range of systems.
What is the smallest system available?
The smallest packaged system available through Atia Communications is for 2-5 handsets. This system will easily scale to 20 handsets and up to 8 simultaneous calls. Our systems are primarily software, therefore can be upgraded without any disruption to your business. Unlike traditional systems, Atia Communications will not need to replace the whole solution should you reach a maximum level, a simple software upgrade or processor upgrade will allow for further expansion.
What is the largest system available?
The largest system available is currently unknown. The largest customer Atia Communications manage is over 1,000 end points. Atia Communications have successfully tested their systems with more than 25,000 simultaneous calls.
Will I need to change my network infrastructure?
IP Telephony relies on the network being of a suitable standard, however that does not mean you need to change your network infrastructure. Atia Communications have carefully chosen IP Telephony solutions that are less reliant on the network infrastructure. Unlike more proprietary systems our solutions do not prescribe a specific network system by a particular manufacturer or supplier, therefore protecting more of your existing investment.
What verticals do you cover?
Atia Communications are very strong in selling our systems to SME companies (less than 1,000 handsets). Our core verticals are Education, Recruitment, Automotive, Health, Manufacturing, and Retail. Please see our testimonials for further details and to read what our custmers have to say about working with Atia Communications.
Is 'IP Telephony' Safe and Secure?
In a nutshell, yes. There are several ways that Atia Communications will make your IP Telephony system safe and secure. None of these security methods are available on existing Digital Phone systems, and are security enhancements only available on IP Telephony solutions. These areas in brief are;
- Authorization:
Atia Communications will configure devices in such a way to allow traffic from only a select group of IP addresses through to the network. This is in much the same way as with your computer network and other network devices. This mechanism shields the device to an extent from denial-of-service attacks or people hacking into your systems. - Authentication:
Authentication may require two communicating VoIP devices to authenticate each other before the actual communication starts. This mutual authentication might be based on a shared secret or code that is known prior to the communication, making it difficult if not impossible for an attacker to masquerade identities. - Transport Layer Security (TLS):
Transport Layer Security can provide a secure communication channel between two communicating entities. The primary goal of the TLS Protocol is to provide privacy and data integrity between two communicating applications. The protocol allows client/server applications to communicate in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, or message forgery. A device incorporating TLS can be configured to allow only secure SIP signalling with other devices. This mandates that the client first sets up a TLS/SSL connection to the server and then exchanges encrypted SIP messages with it on the secure connection. Since this secure communication is based on a shared secret or code known only to the server and the client, this mechanism makes it very difficult if not impossible, for an eavesdropper to view, manipulate, or replay the messages exchanged.

What is The Difference Between VoIP and IP Telephony?
A lot of people use the terms 'Voice over IP' (VoIP) and 'IP Telephony' interchangeably, equating one to the other. What's the difference between the two?
Put simply, VoIP is a subset of IP Telephony. IP Telephony, also commonly called Internet Telephony, is the area of communications that involves digital phone systems based on a number of IP (Internet) standards. The main aim of IP Telephony is to increase productivity, which suggests that the technology is better referenced in business environments.
On the other hand, VoIP is simply a digital transport vehicle for phone calls. In its different flavours, it works towards offering cheap or free calls and to add more features to voice communications.
To see it in a broader picture, think of IP Telephony as the overall concept and VoIP as a means of transmitting voice to implement this concept. An IP Telephony system can, for example, be an IP-PBX which has VoIP and its standards (SIP, H.323 etc.) along with many other things (e.g. CRM), geared towards better productivity.
There are many other ways to put the difference simply. Atia Communications describes IP Telephony as the overall experience of 'communicating effectively' and 'reliably using Internet protocols'; this being achieved by harnessing the power of VoIP by virtue of the latter's user-friendly features.
